Hotel Salvation 2016

Mukti Bhawan follows the story of Daya, a retired man who is determined to travel to Varanasi to die. He convinces his son Rajiv, who is busy with work and family commitments, to accompany him. Rajiv reluctantly agrees, and the two arrive in the holy city. Rajiv discovers that his father's stay at Mukti Bhawan, an old guesthouse designated for those wanting to attain salvation before death, may be far longer than expected. He is frustrated at first, but soon comes to appreciate the beauty of the city and its culture. As days pass, he finds himself deeply exploring life and death in all its complexity and beauty. He starts to recognize the importance of living life to the fullest and that death is not something to be feared. He also discovers the value of familial relationships and how they can transcend mortality. Mukti Bhawan is a heart-warming story about an elderly father and his son who embark on a spiritual journey of understanding life and death.
