Honour Killing 2015

Honour Killing is a Canadian drama film released in 2017. It follows the story of a young couple, Mina and Rahmi, who are in love but face opposition from their families due to cultural differences. Mina, a Hindu girl, and Rahmi, a Muslim boy, decide to elope against their families’ wishes, only to be discovered and separated by her family. Mina is then sent back to India to be married off to another man, while Rahmi attempts to rescue her. As the situation escalates, Mina’s family decides to carry out an honour killing on her as a punishment for their perceived dishonourable behaviour. The film follows Mina and Rahmi’s struggle to be together, and the efforts of those around them to save them from the ultimate consequences of their choices. In the end, love prevails and both Mina and Rahmi live happily ever after.
