Hind Kesari 1935

Hindi Kesari is a 2019 Indian historical period action drama film based on the life of Sikh warrior, Havildar Ishar Singh, who participated in the Battle of Saragarhi in 1897. The film was directed by Anurag Singh and stars Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles. The movie follows Ishar Singh, a brave Sikh soldier in British India's 36th Sikhs regiment who is tasked with defending the Saragarhi outpost against an overwhelming number of Afghani invaders. With the help of his men, Ishar valiantly fights off wave after wave of invading forces but is eventually overwhelmed and killed in battle. Although Ishar and his men are eventually defeated, their courage and bravery are remembered throughout India and continue to inspire generations of Indians and Sikhs. The movie celebrates Ishar Singh's courage and selfless sacrifice for the nation.
