Story

Hanste Zakhm is a 1973 Bollywood drama film written and directed by Chetan Anand. The movie stars Balraj Sahni, Priya Rajvansh, and Navin Nischol. It tells the story of an idealistic professor, Vishal Anand (Sahni), who is forced to confront his own ideals when he is caught between two opposing forces: the traditional values of his family and the modern values of his students. Vishal is a professor of literature at a college in rural Northern India. He is a passionate believer in the power of education and enlightenment, and in the need for social justice. He finds himself deeply conflicted when his son, Sunil (Nischol), joins the student movement against the oppressive landlord system. His wife, Amrita (Rajvansh), supports her son's activism, while Vishal fears that it will lead to disaster.
