Story

Gudgudee is a 1998 Indian musical drama film directed by Basu Chatterjee and produced by Aditya Chopra. The story revolves around three generations of a family living in the fictional town of Baliya in Uttar Pradesh, India. The movie tells the story of Guddu (Mohan Joshi), a middle-aged man who is struggling to keep his family's tradition alive while dealing with a changing society. He lives with his wife Shobha (Kirron Kher) and their son Raja (Anuj Sawhney). While Guddu tries to teach Raja the values that were instilled in him, Raja is more interested in modern music and technology. When Guddu's parents come to visit, they bring along an ancient musical instrument, the gudgudee, and try to get Raja to learn it. But Raja is too busy with his own interests and refuses to learn the old music. Eventually, Guddu gets his son to understand the importance of the gudgudee and its traditional music.
