Gateway Of India 1957

Gateway of India is a 1957 Indian drama film directed by Raj Khosla and written by I.S. Johar. The movie stars Pradeep Kumar, Meena Kumari, and Jeevan in lead roles. The plot follows the story of Suresh (Pradeep Kumar), a young man from a small village who comes to Bombay with dreams of becoming a famous singer. He meets with music director Kalidas (Jeevan), who helps him realize his dream. However, just as his career is about to take off, he finds out that Kalidas has been cheating on him and using him for his own personal gain. This leads to a confrontation between the two, resulting in Suresh losing his job. In an act of desperation, Suresh attempts suicide but is saved by the timely intervention of Anuradha (Meena Kumari). Impressed by his determination, Anuradha helps him regain his confidence and eventually, he succeeds in becoming a successful singer. In the end, Suresh and Anuradha are united and they get married.
