Story

Garm Hava is a Indian film which tells the story of a Muslim family in Agra struggling to survive in post-partition India. The father, Salim Mirza, is a shoe-maker and decides to move his family to Pakistan despite opposition from his sons. However, he is unable to acquire a permit to cross the border and is forced to stay in India. His sons, Majid and Idris, are determined to find a way to leave, but their mother, Shanta Begum, persuades them to remain with their father. As the family struggles to make ends meet, they face discrimination from both Hindus and Muslims. Eventually, Majid finds a job at a shoe factory, but is later laid off due to religious prejudice. In the end, after a series of difficult experiences, the family comes to terms with their reality and learns to accept their fate. Despite the odds, they remain hopeful for the future.
