Unforutnately Ganapth failed to impress movie goers and it appears it has bombed in the first 10 days after release earning a meager ₹12 crore and grabbing over 16 Burnt Chapatis on Somindram. Both critics and audiences were not blown away by the film that opened in theatres on Dussehra, Oct 20, 2023. This may not bode well for another similar dystopian drama, Kalki 2898 AD, due for release on January 12, 2024 and is believed to be the most expensive Indian movie ever made at a cost of more than ₹ 600 crore. Pre-Release Commentary. Based on the following factors, Ganapath could be a box office hit with an 80% probability of success, and could gross between 350 to 450 crores, possibly even more.Star power: The movie stars Tiger Shroff, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kriti Sanon all popular Bollywood actors. This could help to attract a large audience. Genre: The movie is a futuristic action thriller, which is a popular genre in India. Director: The movie is directed by Vikas Bahl, who has directed successful films such as "Queen" and "Super 30". Budget: The movie has a reported budget of ₹200 crore, which is a high budget for a Bollywood film. This could indicate that the filmmakers are confident in the movie's potential.If there is any weakness it is in pre-release marketing. It just has not been strong. The movie seems to have not capitalized enough on the stellar cast it could benefit from. Kangana Ranaut also expressed her discontent with the timing of the release implying she had Dussehra in mind for her own film Emergency and now willhave to rethink that date.Ganapath will itself serve as an indicator of success for a similar plot in the film Kalki 2898 set to release in January 12, 2024.
