English Babu Desi Mem 1996

English Babu Desi Mem is a romantic comedy-drama movie released in 1996. It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Sonali Bendre and Arjun Rampal in lead roles. The story is about Vikram Mayur, an NRI (Non-Resident Indian) who visits India for the first time to attend his elder brother's funeral. He meets his brother's wife, Anju, and her daughter, Megha. Vikram and Anju eventually fall in love, but soon realise that their relationship is not socially acceptable. Despite this, they decide to get married. However, before they can do so, Vikram must return to England. Anju decides to go with him, leaving her daughter behind. After much struggle, the couple finally reunites with Megha and the family lives happily ever after. In the end, the movie conveys the message of the importance of family and the power of true love.
