Story

Dil Apna Aur Preet Parai is a 1960 Indian romantic drama film starring Raj Kumar and Meena Kumari. The movie follows the story of two orphans, Raju and Laxmi, who were adopted by different families. Raju was adopted by a wealthy family and Laxmi was adopted by a poor family. As they grow up, Raju falls in love with Laxmi, but their class differences prevent them from being together. Raju's family arranges his marriage to another woman, but he continues to pursue Laxmi. When his family discovers his intentions, he is disowned and left with nothing. Meanwhile, Laxmi's family is struggling financially and she decides to take matters into her own hands by becoming a singer. In the end, Laxmi and Raju are able to reunite and marry. They overcome their class differences by learning to accept each other's differences and working together to make their dreams come true.
