-e-Ishq Dawat-e-Ishq is a romantic comedy film about Gully Boy, Tariq (Aditya Roy Kapoor) and Gulrez, (Parineeti Chopra), two individuals from different backgrounds who are brought together by fate. Tariq, a Hyderabadi shoe-salesman, falls in love with Gulrez, a Delhi-based chef. However Gulrez is already engaged to her wealthy fiancé, and Tariq sets out to win her heart through his culinary skills. With the help of his grandmother, he learns to cook traditional Hyderabadi dishes, and then travels to Delhi to win Gulrez's heart. Gulrez slowly starts to fall for him but still hesitates due to her arranged marriage. Eventually, she decides to follow her heart and run away with Tariq. However, they soon find themselves in a series of misunderstandings, jealousies, and near misses. In the end, Tariq and Gulrez work together to overcome all their obstacles and finally unite in a grand wedding celebration.
