Story

Dada is a 1979 Indian Kannada drama film directed by Dorai-Bhagavan and written by Renuka Sharma. The film stars Rajkumar, Manjula, Pandari Bai, and Jayanthi in the lead roles. The story follows the life of Dada (Rajkumar), an orphan who is adopted by his uncle's family. He is brought up as a son by his extended family and soon falls in love with a local girl, Radha (Manjula). However, due to the difference in their social status, their relationship is opposed by her wealthy father. Meanwhile, Dada's uncle's daughter, Lakshmi (Pendari Bai), has her own plans for him and she and her brother make several attempts to separate them. In the end, Dada and Radha manage to survive the odds and reunite, much to the disappointment of Lakshmi. Dada is a classic tale of star-crossed lovers where a young orphan faces opposition from his extended family and higher society when he falls in love with a local girl. Despite the odds, the couple eventually triumphs and are reunited.
