Daata 1989

Daata is a 1989 Indian action-adventure film starring Mithun Chakraborty, Shammi Kapoor and Padmini Kolhapure. The story follows a poor rickshaw driver, Daata (Mithun Chakraborty), who becomes embroiled in a crime syndicate's attempts to retrieve a priceless diamond. After receiving the diamond from an old man, Daata is approached by gangsters, led by Tiger (Shammi Kapoor). Tiger informs Daata that the diamond belongs to him, and demands that Daata return it or suffer the consequences. Meanwhile, Daata develops feelings for a woman named Sangeeta (Padmini Kolhapure), whom he meets while driving his rickshaw. When Tiger threatens Sangeeta, Daata decides to confront the gangsters head on. With the help of a police officer, Daata is able to outwit the gangsters and return the diamond to its rightful owner. In the process, he also earns the respect of the police officer, as well as the admiration of Sangeeta. Ultimately, Daata emerges triumphant, proving that even the weakest can stand up to powerful enemies.
