Cuttputlli 2022

Cutputlli is a Telugu language movie released in 1977. It tells the story of a young girl, Gauri, and her family who live in an isolated village in India. Gauri's family consists of her parents and her two siblings, brother and sister. Gauri is strong-willed and independent, and she dreams of studying at college one day. Her father, however, is content with the traditional roles of women and does not allow Gauri to pursue her dreams. Her brother supports her, but is unable to convince their father. One night, Gauri overhears her father talking to another man about selling her to someone in the city. She is horrified and runs away from home. She finds refuge in a temple where she meets an old man who helps her find her way to the city. After many obstacles, Gauri eventually manages to secure admission into a college. Eventually, Gauri's family realizes that they have been wrong and support her dreams, allowing Gauri to study and make something of herself. Cutputlli is a story of female empowerment that shows how even in the face of adversity, a determined woman can pave her own path.
