Story

Coolie is a 1983 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Manmohan Desai. It stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor, Waheeda Rehman and Kader Khan. The film tells the story of Iqbal Aslam Khan (Bachchan) who is a coolie at Mumbai's Victoria Terminus railway station. He falls in love with the daughter of a wealthy man, Bashir Ahmed (Khan). In order to marry her, he must prove himself to be worthy of her family's respect. With the help of a lawyer, he succeeds in his quest and wins the girl's heart. However, his newfound happiness is short-lived as he is diagnosed with cancer. Despite the odds, he fights his illness and encourages others to do the same. In the end, his courage and determination ultimately triumph over death. Coolie is an inspiring story of love, courage and resilience. It is a timeless classic that celebrates the power of the human spirit.
