Chamatkar 1992

Chamatkar is a Bollywood romantic comedy film directed by Rajiv Mehra. It stars Naseeruddin Shah and Urmila Matondkar as the lead characters, alongside Shammi Kapoor in a supporting role. The story revolves around Sunder (Shah) who is employed as a caretaker of a graveyard. One day, a beautiful girl, Naina (Matondkar), comes running to the graveyard seeking refuge from her family's pursuers, and Sunder helps her. As time passes, they develop feelings for each other, but their relationship is forbidden by both families. To make matters worse, Sunder discovers that he has been appointed to exorcise a spirit from a nearby village, which puts him at odds with Naina’s family. The two must overcome these obstacles if they are to be together. Ultimately, Naina and Sunder manage to find a way to be together despite all the obstacles. Through magical forces and the help of Sunder’s mentor, the spirit is vanquished and the couple is able to marry and live happily ever after. Chamatkar is a light-hearted and humorous story about two people overcoming the odds to be together.
