Story

Buddha Mil Gaya is a 1971 Indian comedy film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. The story follows Raju (Rajesh Khanna), a young man who discovers a mysterious old man (Achala Sachdev) living in an abandoned temple. Raju takes the old man home, and soon enough his presence starts to bring good luck and prosperity to the family. Raju's mother (Indrani Mukherjee) is initially suspicious of the old man, but eventually she comes to accept him. Raju begins to call the old man 'Buddha', as he believes this is his destiny. Later, it is revealed that the old man is actually an escaped convict who was convicted of murder. But, in the end, Raju forgives him and helps him find redemption. The movie ends with Raju and his family's newfound wealth and happiness.
