Story

Black Friday is a 2007 Indian crime drama film directed by Anurag Kashyap. The story follows the aftermath of the 1993 Bombay bombings, told through the different stories of people involved, directly or indirectly. It focuses on the investigation by the police and the media to uncover the truth behind the attacks, as well as the personal struggles of those affected. The film follows three main characters: police officer Rakesh Maria (Kay Kay Menon), who heads the investigation, investigative journalist Arun Gawli (Dibyendu Bhattacharya) and the mysterious Sheikh (Aditya Srivastava). The film chronicles the events leading up to, during and after the bombings, as each of these characters deals with their own personal issues and struggles with the investigation. Through their stories, the audience is able to witness the devastating effects of the bombings on the city of Bombay and its citizens.
