Story

Bhakta Prahlada is a 1967 Hindu devotional movie about the story of a devotee, Prahlada, and his relationship with his father, the demon king Hiranyakashipu. Prahlada is a devoted worshiper of Lord Vishnu and constantly prays to him despite his father's orders not to. In retaliation, Hiranyakashipu attempts to kill Prahlada several times but fails each time. Eventually, Lord Vishnu appears in the form of the half-man, half-lion Narasimha to protect Prahlada. After a fierce battle, Prahlada is saved and his father is killed. In the end, Prahlada's devotion to the Lord is rewarded, as he is crowned the king of the demons. The movie serves as an example of an individual's faith and devotion being rewarded by God, even in the face of great adversity.
