Story

Bhakta Prahlad is an Indian devotional mythological film released in 1946. It tells the story of Prahlada, a devotee of Vishnu who is tested by his father, King Hiranyakashipu, who wants him to worship him instead. Through his unwavering devotion to Vishnu, Prahlad survives all of the king’s attempts to kill him and eventually wins his freedom and is reunited with his father. The film was directed by Y.V. Rao and starred Chittor V. Nagaiah in the lead role. The film also featured music composed by M. S. Gopalarao and lyrics written by K. Narayanaswamy. The film follows the story of Prahlada, a young boy devoted to Vishnu. Despite his father's attempt to turn him away from Vishnu, Prahlada remains steadfast in his faith. In order to test Prahlada's devotion, the king tries to have him killed several times, but Prahlada miraculously survives each attempt.
