Story

Bandhan is a 1940 Hindi language film directed by Homi Wadia. It follows the story of a young man, Thakur Sunder Singh, who lives with his brother and sister-in-law in their ancestral home. When his brother dies, leaving him to care for his widow, he promises to marry her when she turns 18. He later meets a beautiful girl named Kamla and falls in love with her. However, he finds out that Kamla's father has promised her hand in marriage to another man. Sunder Singh then decides to keep his promise to his brother’s widow and marry her instead of Kamla. Kamla, meanwhile, discovers her father’s plan and decides to run away with Sunder Singh. After various adventures, they eventually get married and live happily ever after. Bandhan is an inspiring story of true love prevailing against all odds.
