Story

Baabul is a 2006 Bollywood drama film about an elderly man, Balraj Kapoor (Amitabh Bachchan). He has been living in a rural village in India for many years with his wife and two grown children, Avinash and Rani. Avinash has moved away to London and married a British woman, Sonia. When Rani gets engaged, Balraj wants nothing more than for Avinash to come back to attend the wedding. After much persuasion, Avinash returns, but tragedy soon strikes when Rani's husband-to-be is killed in an accident. Balraj must now take it upon himself to find a suitable match for Rani, and so he arranges her marriage to a man named Dev, who had recently lost his wife. Despite initial reluctance, Rani and Dev eventually fall in love and they are remarried. The film follows the struggles of Balraj and his family as they cope with the tragic circumstances and learn to move on with their lives, ultimately finding hope and joy in each other.
