Arzoo is a 1965 Hindi-language drama film. The story follows the journey of a young girl, Arzoo, who is taken away from her loving family and given away in marriage to a wealthy older man. Arzoo is the daughter of a poor but hardworking farmer, Gopal. To provide for his family, Gopal takes up a job in the city as a driver. His daughter, Arzoo, is left in the care of her aunt, who takes her in and raises her as her own. While in the city, Gopal meets a wealthy man, Raja, who is impressed with Gopal's honesty and decides to reward him with money. Unbeknownst to Gopal, Raja has an ulterior motive: he wants to marry Arzoo. Gopal is tricked into signing away his daughter's hand in marriage and Arzoo is sent to Raja's home. Naïve and inexperienced, she is unable to understand what is happening and is shocked when she learns of her arranged marriage.
