Amardeep is a 1958 Indian Bollywood film directed by Lekhraj Bhakri and starring Dilip Kumar, Nutan and Pran. The story revolves around Amardeep, a young man who lives in a village with his grandmother. His father had left them for another woman, leaving them to fend for themselves. Amardeep falls in love with a girl from the city, Gauri. Despite their love, Gauri’s family does not approve of him. After much strife, they are finally able to marry. However, Amardeep has to go to the city to make money and finds himself drawn into a criminal underworld, losing Gauri’s trust. He eventually manages to get out of it and prove his innocence, reclaiming Gauri’s trust. In the end, Amardeep and Gauri are reunited and live happily ever after.
