Story

Ahinsa is a 1979 Indian Hindi-language drama film directed by Gulzar. It stars Sanjeev Kumar and Sharmila Tagore and tells the story of a poor farmer and his wife who are struggling to make ends meet during a famine in their village. The farmer, Raju, meets a wandering ascetic named Sadhu and discovers that he is the incarnation of God. He is inspired by Sadhu's words of wisdom and begins to lead a more peaceful and content life with his family. Through his acts of kindness and ahimsa (nonviolence), Raju discovers true inner peace and spiritual fulfillment. As the famine worsens, Raju uses his newfound wisdom to help others in need and ultimately succeeds in bringing the villagers out of poverty. Ahinsa is an inspiring tale of how selflessness can bring hope and joy to those around us.
