Story

Afsar is a 1950 Indian drama film directed by Zia Sarhady. The story follows the life of a young woman, Asha, who is married off to a wealthy man against her wishes. She soon finds out that her husband has been unfaithful and she is now pregnant with another man's child. Unable to bear the shame, she leaves her husband and wanders in search of a new home. Along the way, she meets a kind-hearted doctor who takes her in and helps her deliver her baby. Asha eventually finds solace in a village and starts a new life as a teacher. Despite facing the social stigma of being a single mother, she finds strength and courage to lead a fulfilled life. Through her journey, Asha discovers the true meaning of love and family, and learns the importance of standing up for what she believes in.
