Story

Aasra is a 1966 Hindi film directed by Raj Khosla and starring Sunil Dutt, Waheeda Rehman, and Meena Kumari. The story revolves around two people, Anand (Sunil Dutt) and Lata (Waheeda Rehman), who have been deeply in love since they were children. However, their relationship is tested when Anand's father (Pran) disapproves of their union due to religious differences. Anand is forced to marry a wealthy woman for her family's wealth, while Lata is married off to an older man. Despite the obstacles, Anand and Lata still remain devoted to each other and try to reunite with each other. Eventually, Anand manages to win his father over and both he and Lata are able to reunite and live happily ever after. Aasra tells a heartwarming story of perseverance and true love that conquers all.
