The film's a prequel, meaning it rewinds time before the events of the first A Quiet Place movie. While John Krasinski, who directed the originals, helped craft the story, Michael Sarnoski takes the helm this time around. The road to making Day One wasn't exactly quiet. Originally planned for release in 2023, the project went through a few bumps. Jeff Nichols, initially attached to write and direct, exited due to creative differences. Enter Michael Sarnoski, whose acclaimed indie film "Pig" caught Krasinski's eye.

Although the story takes place in the heart of New York City, filming actually happened in London where elaborate sets were built to recreate the urban chaos.
