Story

72 Hours: Martyr Who Never Died is a 2019 Indian war drama film about the life of Havildar Ishar Singh, an Indian Army soldier who fought in the 1897 Battle of Saragarhi. The movie starts with Ishar Singh's childhood and his recruitment into the Indian Army to fight for the 36th Sikhs regiment. The movie then follows Ishar Singh and the other Sikh soldiers as they are sent to the North West Frontier Province (NWFP) for an assignment to protect the British-controlled Fort Lockhart from the Pashtun Orakzai tribes. Upon arrival, Ishar Singh leads the soldiers in a successful defense against the Orakzai tribes' attack. With knowledge of a bigger attack planned, Ishar Singh and the other 21 Sikh soldiers make the decision to stay at the fort and defend it against 10,000 Orakzai tribesmen.
