Story

2 States is an Indian romantic drama film released in 2014. It is based on the 2009 novel of the same name written by Chetan Bhagat. The story follows a Punjabi boy, Krish Malhotra and a Tamil girl Ananya Swaminathan, who meet while studying at IIM Ahmedabad, and fall in love. But they are from two different states in India - Punjab and Tamil Nadu - and their families have opposing views about their relationship. Despite the cultural differences, the couple decide to get married. In order to do so, they must convince their parents to accept their relationship. Through a series of events, Krish and Ananya's families slowly come to terms with their union. Eventually, the two marry and live a happily-ever-after life together. 2 States is a heartwarming story of how love triumphs over all odds and how two people from different backgrounds can find happiness in each other.
